Kids Homecraft

ENTRY RULES FOR ALL YOUTH CLASSES

  1. Open to both girls and boys.
  2. One exhibit per section per exhibitor.
  3. Please fill in entry tags very carefully.
  4. No entry fee required if entering ONLY Youth – Crafts, and/or Baking, and/or Flowers, and/or Photography, and/or Specials.
  5. Entries will be disqualified if age is not visible on entry tag.
  6. Please put CLASS number and AGE on entry tag

Goody bag for each entrant generously donated by the Monast Family.

CLASS 13:  YOUTH – AGES 12 TO 16 YEARS OF AGE

Section

  1. Two snapshots of an old barn which can include outer buildings from 2 different angles, mounted on a sheet of construction paper
  2. Collage of your choice on 1/4 sheet of Bristol board
  3. Any craft from a kit
  4. Any article made from material i.e. Clothing, knitting etc.
  5. Thanksgiving door wreath, any material
  6. Decorate a picture frame
  7. Free hand drawing using coloured pencils
  8. Make something new from something old
  9. A small table centerpiece using real or artificial flowers or both together
  10. Basket of fruits and vegetables – displayed (does not have to be grown by exhibitor)

CLASS 14:  YOUTH – AGES 9 to 11 YEARS OF AGE

Section

  1. Large colourful flower – handmade from any material
  2. Bookmark, any medium
  3. Something new from something old
  4. Something made from Lego
  5. Any craft from a kit
  6. Poster advertising the Chesterville Fair on ½ sheet of Bristol board
  7. Decorated Kleenex box
  8. Collage of your choice on 1/4 sheet of Bristol board
  9. Decorated fly swatter
  10. Make something from popsicle sticks
  11. Make a fruit basket for Grandma
  12. Make a birthday card for Mom

CLASS 15:  YOUTH – AGES 6 to 8 YEARS OF AGE

Section

  1. Make a necklace from any material
  2. Collage on construction paper, any theme
  3. An article made from Lego
  4. Decorated bookmark
  5. Any craft from a kit
  6. Make an after school snack for you
  7. Draw and colour a bug i.e. Beetle
  8. Make something new from something old
  9. Cereal art on a sheet of construction paper
  10. Decorated pet rock
  11. Animal made from vegetables
  12. Decorate a wooden spoon

CLASS 16:  YOUTH 3 to 5 YEARS OF AGE

Section

  1. Make something from play doh and display on a paper plate
  2. Necklace made with cereal and candy
  3. Something made from Lego
  4. Collage of your choice, on one sheet of construction paper
  5. Make and animal out of vegetables
  6. Your favourite after school snack
  7. Decorated bookmark
  8. Make a marshmallow sculpture
  9. Decorated fly swatter
  10. Colour a picture from a colouring book. Neatness will be judged

Class 17:  Youth Special – Open for 8 to 16 YEARS OF AGE

Any craft item not listed in the Class 9 to 15 – YOUTH sections can be entered and judged.

  1. Knitting
  2. Sewing
  3. Quilting
  4. Or any other craft you like, not listed in any other youth section

 

OAAS POSTER COMPETITIONS

Poster Competitions—’Original Handmade Design’

  1. “Promoting Your Fair” – Name and date of fair must be clearly shown on poster.
  2. Must be hand drawn.
  3. Poster size: Minimum –approximately 22 cm X 28 cm, without border

Maximum –approximately 28 cm X 44 cm, without border

  1. Each entry must be centered on a CARDSTOCK or BRISTOL BOARD exposing approximately a 5.5 cm border on all four sides.
  2. Name of fair, district #, contact person, owner of poster, complete mailing address must be clearly labeled on the back of each entry.
  3. The winning poster from each class at each fair will be eligible to enter the district competition. District winners are eligible to enter at the provincial competition
  • Junior Poster Competition – Youth up to and including Grade 4
