Jams, jellies, pickles and relishes may be in 250 ml (1 cup) or 500 ml (2 cup) jars. All jars not properly sealed at the time of judging will be disqualified. There must be no rust on the jar lid. No commercial kits to be used. Pickles must be natural colour – NO FOOD COLOURING! NO RUSTED CAPS OR RINGS
Newest exhibitor winning highest number of points in Class 8 (only) will receive Prize money: $25.00 – Sponsored by Nicole Lauzon. (A new exhibitor is a person who has never exhibited at the Chesterville and District Agricultural Society (Homecraft Division), or has not exhibited at the Chesterville and District Agricultural Society (Homecraft Division) since 2015.)

THERE WILL BE FOUR COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
- Best of Show Home Canning – 1st place $30.00 GC + Rosette
Highest in Points Class 8, using Bernardin jars and lids
- Special Award for Best Jam/Jelly prepared with Bernardin pectin
1st place $20.00 GC + Rosette
- Gift Pack Competition – 1st place $20.00 GC + Rosette
- Bernardin Snap Lid/Mason Jar Craft Competition –
1st place $20.00 GC + Rosette
- In order to be considered for the above prizes, the entry must use a Bernardin mason Jar/Snap lid, as proof of purchase.
- Bernardin Jam/Jelly Award requires Bernardin Pectin package or UPC as proof of purchase.
- All entries will be judged on appearance, texture, creativity of recipe and presentation. Decision of the fair judge(s) will be final.
- All first place winners must sign a release form giving the sponsor (Bernardin) permission to use, without payment, the winner’s name and/or photograph in any other advertising or publicity.
- Winner’s of categories 3 and 4 have the opportunity to move on to the National Competitions.
